Once we have put our faith in Jesus, baptism is the way in which we show that we now belong to and want to follow Him. As you are physically submerged in water, what you are essentially doing is saying goodbye to your old way of life and as you rise out of the water you are being raised into your new life in Him.
The act of baptism makes your commitment clear, it is a symbolic sign of being cleansed of your sin and your old life, and it marks a new beginning.
We have baptisms at various times throughout the year – at the river in the warmer months. If you would like to be baptised, or would like more information, please contact us using this form. or speak to someone at the Sunday service.
Why Get Baptised
Jesus Himself was baptised with water at the beginning of His ministry (Mark 3:13-15, Luke 3:21). And He commanded us to be baptised with water (Matthew 28:19-20).
Being baptised with water is a demonstration of our obedience to the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a practical demonstration of a spiritual reality that has already taken place – “having been buried with him in baptism and raised with him through your faith in the power of God, who raised him from the dead.” Colossians 2:12 NIV
